AIS - Sport Performance Awards - 2023 Sport Volunteer of the Year Award
Nominations are now open for the 2023 Sport Volunteer of the Year Award!
Presented by Volunteering Australia, the award recognises volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to sporting organisations, clubs, teams or programs over the past year. The award is part of the Australian Sports Commission;s (ASC) dedication to championing the role of volunteers and its key component of the Sport Volunteer Coalition and Action Plan.
Nominations will close on Wednesday 18 October 2023.
This year the award criteria has been expanded to encourage nominations from local sporting clubs, as well as national and state sporting organisations. Nomination criteria.
Key messages
• The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) will continue to celebrate the important role volunteers play in sport through the National Sport Volunteer of the Year Award at the AIS Sport Performance Awards 2023.
• This will be the second year the prestigious award is presented at the annual AIS Sport Performance Awards, recognising our best volunteers alongside Australia's best high-performance athletes.
• Inaugural recipient, Nicole Williams from the Brighton Cricket Club in Adelaide took out last year’s honours for her outstanding contribution to her sport and we are expecting an incredible array of volunteer nominations from clubs right up to national sporting organisations this year.
• Presented by Volunteering Australia, the Sport Volunteer of the Year award recognises volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to sporting organisations, clubs, teams or programs over the past year.
• The award is part of the ASC’s dedication to championing the role of volunteers and it is a key component of the Sport Volunteer Coalition and Action Plan. We look forward to seeing all your fantastic volunteer nominations
